(Globe Moss Falsecypress, Japanese Falsecypress, Sawara Falsecypress)
Japanese falsecypress is an evergreen coniferous shrub that originates from Japan. The cultivar 'Squarrosa Minima' is a dwarf selection that forms a dense mound of feathery olive-green foliage. Its tidy habit is appealing and versatile in the landscape and its foliar texture provides interest all year around.
This cultivar thrives in partial shade and moist, slightly acid, organic-rich, well-drained soil. Its foliage may scorch in full sun. It prefers cool humid environments and should be protected...

(Japanese Falsecypress, Sawara Falsecypress)
Japanese falsecypress is a hardy evergreen conifer best known for its legions of interesting cultivated varieties. Wild-type specimens in Japan become large trees, but most cultivated forms are far more compact and have foliage in an array of textures and colors. In fact, garden varieties have been separated into three groups that differ in their foliage textures. These include the Filifera Group, with scale-like leaves held in cascading, rope-like branchlets; the Plumosa Group, with feathery masses...

(Japanese Falsecypress, Sungold Threadleaf Falsecypress)
Represented in gardens primarily by three large groups of cultivars, Sawara falsecypress is a hardy evergreen conifer native to Japan. The clasping scale-like leaves and lacy cascading tassel-like branchlets of 'Sungold' mark it as a member of the Filifera Group. Similar to but more sun tolerant than C. pisifera 'Filifera Aurea', it slowly forms an arching, rounded, medium-sized shrub. The pea-sized spherical cones appear only on mature specimens.
This cultivar thrives in light shade...

(Japanese Falsecypress, Tsukumo Japanese Falsecypress)
Japanese falsecypress is an evergreen conifer shrub that originates from Japan. The very dwarf, slow-growing 'Tsukumo' develops a rounded silhouette with a flattened top. The scaled needles are bright green with needle undersides a bluish green. Its tidy habit is appealing and versatile in the landscape and its foliar texture provides interest all year around.
This cultivar thrives in partial shade and moist, slightly acid, organic-rich, well-drained soil. Its foliage may scorch in full sun....

(Atlantic Whitecedar)
Having finely textured dark green needles that blush purpled bronze in winter's cold, Atlantic whitecedar becomes a rather mundane, plump-columned tree. Native to the coastal plains of the eastern United States, from Maine to Florida and Mississippi, it is an evergreen conifer. The reddish, gray-brown bark is well hidden by the dense, prickly tufts of needled foliage. Ranging in color from gray-green to dark green with small white bands on undersides, the cold of winter causes leaves to become bronze...

(Andelyensis Atlantic Whitecedar, Atlantic Whitecedar)
A slow-growing cultivar of Atlantic white cedar, ‘Andelyensis’ has fine-textured medium bright green needles that blush purple during winter, especially on boughs exposed to full sun. It is a tidy but wide-pyramidal small tree of broad soil adaptability, a trait of its parent, native to the coastal plains of the eastern United States from Maine to Florida and Mississippi. An evergreen conifer, ‘Andelyensis’ has reddish, gray-brown bark well hidden by the dense, prickly tufts of needles that have...

(Atlantic Whitecedar, Ericoides Atlantic Whitecedar)
Most often seen as a semi-dwarf, rounded to cone-shaped shrub, the heath-leaved Atlantic whitecedar -- cultivar 'Ericoides' -- eventually matures into an upright, narrowly pyramidal small tree. Unlike other cultivars, the blue-green needles blush burgundy to red-violet in winter's cold, rather than bronzy purple. This selection is native to the coastal plains of the eastern United States from Maine to Florida and Mississippi. An evergreen conifer, it has reddish, gray-brown bark hidden by the dense...

(Atlantic Whitecedar)
Having finely textured dark green needles that blush bronze-purple in winter's cold, 'Glauca' is an upright shrub. Native to the coastal plains of the eastern United States, it has reddish, gray-brown bark that is well hidden by the dense, prickly tufts of needled foliage. Ranging in color from gray-green to dark green with small white bands on undersides, the cold of winter causes leaves to become bronze or purple, one of its best ornamental features. Both male and female cones appear in late spring,...
