(Grey Snakebark Maple)
Lovely in all seasons, this small to medium-sized deciduous maple from Japan offers a compact rounded habit, handsome foliage, and striking bark. Its densely branched crown is set with lush, relatively large, weakly three-lobed leaves that emerge in mid-spring, about the same time as its small yellow flowers. Drooping chains of two-winged fruits follow the flowers, providing an impressive show when they turn pink and tan in fall. The leaves color later in fall than those of many other maples, turning...

(Grey Snakebark Maple)
An unusual, somewhat more cold-tender selection of a lovely maple from Japan, this small to medium-sized deciduous tree offers a compact rounded habit, colorful foliage, and striking bark. Its densely branched crown is set with large, white-blotched, weakly three-lobed leaves that emerge in mid-spring, about the same time as its small yellow flowers. Drooping chains of two-winged fruits follow the flowers, providing an impressive show when they turn pink and tan in fall. The leaves color later in...
(Blair Silver Maple, Silver Maple)
Blair silver maple is a fast growing, large open shade tree that originates from eastern North America. Its medium green leaves have silver undersides and change to a clean yellow in fall. Unlike wild-type silver maples, this selection has a stronger branching habit and is less prone to storm damage. Adaptable to a variety of soils, Blair silver maple prefers sites with full sun and well-drained soil but is also tolerant of poorly drained soil. Plant as a shade or street tree.

(Silver Maple, Silver Queen Silver Maple)
Silver queen silver maple is a fast growing large, open, shade tree with an upright habit that originates from eastern North America. Its medium green leaves have gray-green undersides and change to yellow in fall. This is a seedless selection, so it is less messy and will not seed in. Though adaptable to a variety of soils, this tree tends to be weak-wooded and may be subject to damage during storms. Silver maple is most commonly planted as a shade tree in large open areas.
