Clustered bellflower is a vigorous, spreading perennial native to much of Europe and Asia. The seed-grown cultivar 'Superba' bears dramatic dense clusters of rich purple, bell-shaped flowers. They bloom from late spring into summer on stout reddish stems with broad hairy leaves.
Grow 'Superba' in moist but well-drained soil in sun to partial shade. Cut back the spent flower stems to encourage repeat bloom. It's a splendid plant for the middle or back of the perennial border.

Clustered bellflower is a medium-sized, vigorously colonizing herbaceous perennial native to Europe and Asia. The dwarf form Campanula glomerata var. acaulis bears dense spikes of violet bell-shaped flowers in late spring and early summer above spreading clumps of large oval leaves.
This bellflower prefers full sun to part shade and well drained soil. It makes a nice if somewhat aggressive addition to mixed borders and meadow plantings, self-sowing where happy. Deadhead to encourage rebloom.
