(Pennant Delphinium)
The Pennant Series of delphinium is a collection of elatum-type larkspur known for densely lined flower spikes that don't need staking. This short-lived herbaceous perennial is a hybrid. Its deeply lobed, green foliage is accented by a showy display of semi-double (extra petals) flowers, on sturdy, medium-tall spikes from late spring to midsummer. Butterflies and hummingbirds will visit the blossoms, called florets.
Delphiniums can grow in a variety of soil types but excel in fertile, well drained,...

(Summer Delphinium)
The dwarf, bushy habit and long bloom time of delphiniums in the Summer Series make these sweet garden perennials especially desirable. In summer they produce plentiful, loose spikes covered with spurred, five-petaled flowers that may be sky blue, dark blue or white, depending on the cultivar. These are short, sturdy and well branched, so unlike other delphiniums, they do not require staking. Regular deadheading will help promote flowering.
These plants perform best in full sun, evenly moist...

(Blue Butterfly Larkspur)
Delphinium ‘Blue Butterfly’ is a low-growing perennial which produces loose sprays of vivid, deep blue flowers from late spring to early summer. It is a form of Chinese delphinium, a species native to sunny meadows of northern and eastern Asia. Its single, spurred blossoms are borne on short, well-branched stems which rise from feathery mounds of rich green, fine-textured foliage. The showy blooms are attractive to bees and butterflies, and may continue to reappear throughout much of the summer...
(Delphinium)
Decorating its slender stems with a light scattering of orange-red flowers in summer, scarlet larkspur attracts hummingbirds with the trumpet-shaped blossoms. A short-lived perennial with a slender habit, it is native to southwestern Oregon and northern California in the western United States.
The green, fleshy leaves are deeply lobed, resembling small maple (Acer) or columbine (Aquilegia) leaves. Long, burgundy-gray stalks rise above the clump of foliage in early to midsummer...

(Dendrobium, Sentinel Orchid)
Orchids in the genus Dendrobium are a large group numbering over 1200 species, and there are literally thousands of cultivated hybrid forms, called "grexes.” In fact, this is the largest of all orchid genera.
These showy flowering plants inhabit a wide range of habitats and elevations in tropical locations across the Eastern Hemisphere. Most are epiphytic, meaning they grow on other plants (usually trees) rather than being anchored in the soil. They have long, fleshy, bulbous bases...

(Dendrobium, Farmer's Dendrobium, Sentinel Orchid)
This easily cultivated epiphytic orchid makes an excellent subject for containers and frost-free gardens. It is native to summer-moist forests from the eastern Himalayas to Malaysia, where it typically grows on the spreading branches of large trees.
This evergreen orchid bears leathery, dark green, lance-shaped leaves on swollen, four-angled stems known as "pseudobulbs." The fragrant, white to pale-lilac, yellow-lipped blooms occur in drooping, 20- to 40-flowered clusters from late winter into...
(Dendrobium, Fringe-lipped Dendrobium, Sentinel Orchid)
This long-stemmed, semi-deciduous orchid is native to humid temperate upland forests from India to Vietnam. An epiphyte, it typically grows on tree trunks and rock ledges in the wild.
This frost-tender perennial bears leathery, lance-shaped leaves on long, erect to arching, spindle-shaped stems. Yellow to orange blooms with fringed, darker-hued lips appear in drooping, 6- to 15-flowered clusters from late winter to late spring. The flowers have a mild, slightly sour fragrance. Sporadic rebloom...
