(Bearded Iris, Florentina Bearded Iris)
Here's a heirloom bearded iris that was known since the European Renaissance, first in southern France and northern Italy. Renowned botanist Carl Linnaeus himself described this plant, initially calling it a species. 'Florentina' is striking but elegantly subdued with silvery white when in bloom in early to mid-spring. The ruffled flowers smell of woodland violets.

These are fragrant and have ivory beards at the base of each fall. Like all bearded iris, ‘Full Tide’ has sword-shaped, medium green leaves that are equitant, or fan-like, which are born from slow-spreading bulbous rhizomes.
