Narrowleaf angelon, or summer snapdragon, is an upright perennial to tender perennial that is native to Mexico and the islands of the West Indies. Throughout the growing season plants bear loose spikes of very showy, open, snapdragon-like flowers that appear in shades of lavender, purple, pink and white. There are many cultivars of this ever-blooming, drought tolerant ornamental to include the vigorous lavender and white bicolored, 'Angelmist Lavender Stripe.'

Angelonia or summer snapdragon is a tender perennial native to Mexico and the West Indies which is often planted as an annual. The green leaves are lance-shaped and evergreen only in frost-free zones. Tall, loose spikes of tubular, two-lipped, snapdragon-like flowers appear throughout the growing season.
