(African Daisy, Asti White African Daisy)
An erect, compact, shrubby perennial native to South Africa, African daisy is commonly grown as an annual for its long-blooming, large "daisies" with contrasting eyes. The first seed-grown African daisies to come in individual colors, the Asti Series also features exceptional drought tolerance. The flowers stay open on cloudy days. ‘Asti White’ with stunning white petals and indigo centers was named a 2008 All-America Selection Winner. (African Daisy)
This is a rare pink Cape daisy with spoon-shaped petals that make the flowers look like fancy pinwheels. Frequently grown as an annual but in fact a tender perennial descended from a native of South Africa, it is a hybrid of Osteospermum ecklonis bred in Germany. The compact, mounding, tidy habit makes it a superior high-color groundcover. The oval green or gray-green leaves are densely held on a free branching stem.
Part of the Astra Series, which includes other colors, ‘Astra Candy...

(Herbaceous Peony)
Herbaceous peonies are an all-time garden favorite. These large, bushy perennials originate from eastern Asia and have been bred for thousands of years. There are literally hundreds of wonderful cultivars available, and plants are commonly sold in catalogs because their fleshy rooted crowns are easy to store and ship. They are also virtually impossible to grow from seed and can take years before they first flower post germination.
They are primarily grown for their large, showy flowers that may...
