(L. Archer Verbena, Verbena)

The rosy red flowered Verbena 'L Archer' is a spreading tender perennial bedding plant for warm, sunny beds and borders. This is one of many Verbena hybrids derived from the South American native Verbena peruviana and three other lesser known Verbena species. It is a well-branched contemporary variety developed in Thomson, Georgia by Lenzie Archer. Like most bedding verbenas, it blooms all year around in climates with mild winters and all summer in temperate locations.

From late spring through fall, they bear domed heads of flowers in shades of blue, pink, purple, or red. Lanai™ verbenas prefer sun and well-drained, moist, moderately fertile soil, but will tolerate dry conditions. They are great for planters, hanging baskets, edging, and borders.
