ACER palmatum 'Atrolineare'
Atrolineare Japanese Maple, Japanese Maple, Red Pygmy Japanese Maple
The beautiful and ubiquitous Japanese maple is a small deciduous tree native to eastern Asia. Its cultivar 'Atrolineare' features red, palmate (hand-shaped) leaves that are divided into narrow finger-like lobes. The gray bark is attractive throughout the year.
This maple grows best in moist well drained soil and part shade. Japanese maples are very versatile; they work well as a garden specimen, in containers, and for bonsai.
