General Description

Autumn Flame red maple is prized for its brilliant scarlet fall foliage, that appears earlier than other varieties, and great winter hardiness. This tall, deciduous tree has a uniform rounded canopy and stark gray bark that looks attractive in the winter.

Originating from eastern North America, it is adapted to a wide range of soils and topographies, including wet sites. Red maple grows best in locations with full to part sun. It is widely planted, and makes a great shade tree or street tree for urban settings.
