Family
Asteraceae
Botanical Name
ACHILLEA sibirica ssp. camschatica 'Love Parade'
Plant Common Name
Love Parade Siberian Yarrow, Siberian Yarrow
General Description
Delicate clusters of palest pink flowers blanket this tough perennial in early summer. In spring, the clump-forming 'Love Parade' sends up upright stems lined with glossy dark green leaves. Its long-lasting flowers are lavender pink when they first open and fade to a dirty white as they age. This hardy and resilient plant will continue to flower into early fall, if regularly deadheaded, and is attractive to butterflies.
Siberian yarrow is very easy to grow. Full to partial sun is required and it is well-adapted to a wide range of well-drained soils. The plant forms dense clumps of foliage that spread over time and may need to be divided every two to three years. It is extraordinarily hardy and its blooms make long-lasting cut flowers. Enjoy Siberian yarrow in sunny perennial borders, butterfly gardens or wildflower plantings.
