AJUGA reptans 'Silver Queen'
Common Bugleweed, Silver Queen Common Bugleweed
Silver queen common bugleweed is an evergreen to semi-evergreen, perennial groundcover. Its attractive variegated leaves are silvery gray-green edged in cream and deeply indented. This shade-loving plant is European in origin and spreads rapidly by stolons to form a dense carpet of showy vegetation. Spikes of bright violet-blue flowers appear in late spring and early summer. Plants will tolerate poor soils but perform best in those that are evenly moist and well drained. Divide plantings every two to three years to prevent overcrowding and possible disease problems. This is by far one of the best variegated bugleweeds on the market.
