General Description

The trademark selection Alonia™ Pink features an abundance of dense, showy spikes teeming with pale pink flowers. The plant is rounded, even mounding, with short upright flower spikes.

Narrowleaf angelonia, or summer snapdragon, is an upright perennial to tender perennial native to Mexico and the islands of the West Indies. The neat, clump-forming plants are evergreen in frost-free zones and are commonly treated as annuals in areas with harsh winters. Throughout the growing season, plants bear loose spikes of open, snapdragon-like flowers that appear in shades of pink, purple or white. There are many solid and bicolored cultivars of this ever-blooming, drought-tolerant ornamental plant.

Alonia™ Pink summer snapdragon does best in sites with full sun and average, well-drained soil. For best performance, feed and water regularly. An excellent choice for containers and mixed beds, its showy blooms are attractive to bees and some butterflies, and also make excellent, long-lasting cut flowers. Alonia™ Pink's petite flowers and compact habit may work well as edging.
