ANGELONIA angustifolia( HALO SERIES)
Halo Angelonia, Narrowleaf Angelon, Summer Snapdragon
This entry has yet to be reviewed and approved by L2G editors.
Narrowleaf angelon, or summer snapdragon, is an upright perennial to tender perennial that is native to Mexico and the islands of the West Indies. Throughout the growing season plants bear loose spikes of very showy, open, snapdragon-like flowers that appear in shades of lavender, purple, pink and white. There are many cultivars of this ever-blooming, drought tolerant ornamental to include the vigorous lavender and white bicolored, 'Angelmist Lavender Stripe.'
Angelonia does best in sites with full sun and average, well drained soil. Use these popular bedding plants in containers, or mixed beds and borders. Excessive summertime heat can cause a lessening or cease of flowering.
