James H. Schutte

Family

Scrophulariaceae

Botanical Name

ANTIRRHINUM majus( FLORAL SHOWERS SERIES)

Plant Common Name

Floral Showers Snapdragon

General Description

Floral Showers snapdragons are short-lived tender perennials from southwestern Europe and the Mediterranean that are most frequently used as annuals. These fine bedding plants bear upright spikes of distinctly lipped flowers of that snap open and shut when squeezed, hence the name “snapdragon". Available in a large array of colors and some bicolors, this series includes dwarf branching forms suitable for the front of the border or smaller gardens. Flowering from summer into autumn with regular deadheading, they may take a rest from blooming during the hottest weather.

Grow the Floral Showers Series in sites with full sun and well-drained, average soil (clay soils must be amended). Enjoy these old-fashioned garden favorites in containers and mixed beds and borders.
