Chandelier Yellow Snapdragon, Snapdragon
With its compact trailing form, Chandelier Yellow snapdragon is best suited to border edges and containers. This short-lived tender perennial has gray-green foliage and offers numerous blossoms of intense yellow. The flowers snap open and shut when squeezed, hence the name “snapdragon". This selection has better heat tolerance than most, so it will continue to look nice even as temperatures heat up. Still, it blooms best where summer temperatures are mild.
Snapdragons prefer full to partial sun and well-drained soil with average to good fertility. Where winters are cold, they are planted as summer annuals but snapdragons are best grown in the winter months in subtropical areas. Trailing snapdragons are ideal for hanging baskets and look great spilling over the edges of containers or retaining walls.
