General Description

The vivid magenta pink daisies of Sugar Cheer make it one of the most intensely colored Marguerites on the market. Marguerite daisy originates from the warm Canary Islands off the west coast of Africa where it survives in sunny rough sloped terrain. Extensive breeding has resulted in many hybrids. This cultivar was bred by Thomas Cunneen in New South Wales, Australia and was introduced by Nuflora International. In fact, it is an award-winning hybrid.

This shrubby tender perennial has bright green ferny leaves that emit a strong fragrance when crushed. Its numerous double bright pink daisies shroud the plants in color from late spring till frost or almost year round in frost free climates. The blooms also attract butterflies. Deadhead plants regularly to encourage vigorous flowering.

This easy-to-grow plant prefers full sun and moderately fertile garden soil with good drainage. Regular light pruning will promote compact growth, increase flowering and provide cuttings for propagation. Plants are wind and salt tolerant.

This is an exceptional plant for quick container gardens due to their fast growth and large size. They are excellent for fleshing out sparse beds and borders with instant seasonal color.
