General Description
If you love the classic white daisy with a yellow eye, you'll enjoy growing and admiring the Meteor™ White Marguerite daisy, cultivar 'Supang'. is a notable exception. The eyes are a fuzzy orange-gold, surrounded but a single but concentric ring of plump white petals.
The tough shrubby Marguerite daisy is popular for its beauty and resilience. It originates from the Canary Islands, Madeira and other regions in Macaronesia, where it survives in sunny sloped terrain. In temperate zones with cold winters it is grown as a bedding annual from spring to fall.
Marguerite daisy is shrubby and clump-forming and deeply lobed leaves that emit a strong fragrance when crushed. Flowers are produced above the foliage and appear from late spring till frost, or almost year-round in frost-free climates, and are attractive to butterflies. Flowering subsides in very hot weather and deadheading will prolong vigorous bloom.
Easy to grow, Meteor™ White Marguerite daisy grows best in full sun and moderately fertile garden soil with good drainage. Regular light pruning will promote compact growth, increase flowering and provide cuttings for propagation. Plants are wind and salt tolerant, so they are ideal for seaside gardens, containers and sunny garden beds.
