General Description
A durable shrubby tender perennial often grown as an annual bedding plant, the Sassy® Series of Marguerite daisy remain tidy, compact plants with frilly foliage and many daisy-like flowers. These compact, rounded plants bear lots of flowers on stem tips. They first appear early in the spring and continue for a long flowering season. Each flower opens with a button-like golden yellow eye, and depending on cultivar, bear either light yellow, white or pink petals.
These bushy clump-forming perennials reveal grayish green, deeply lobed leaves that are ferny and emit a strong fragrance when crushed. Flowers occur above the foliage and appear from late spring till frost or almost year round in frost free climates. Flowering subsides in very hot weather and deadheading will prolong vigorous bloom.
Sassy® Series Marguerite daisies are easy-to-grow plants, excelling in full sun and moderately fertile garden soil with good drainage. Regular light pruning will maintain compact growth, increase flowering and provide cuttings for propagation. Plants are wind and salt tolerant.
Grow any of the Sassy® Marguerite daisies in seaside gardens, containers, or sunny garden beds. The blooms draw butterflies and can also be cut for flower arrangements.
