ASTER 'Violet Carpet'

Image of Aster 'Violet Carpet'

Family

Asteraceae

Botanical Name

ASTER 'Violet Carpet'

Plant Common Name

Aster, Violet Carpet Aster

General Description

This low-growing aster creates a carpet of color in late summer and early fall with its multitudes of cool, violet-blue, yellow-centered daisies. The bright blossoms cover broad, spreading mounds of fine, dark green foliage, and are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.

For best growth, provide this perennial with full to part sun and well-drained, moderately moist, loamy soil. The short stature and vivid color of ‘Violet Carpet’ make it a terrific choice for adding late-season color to rock gardens, border edges, or fall-themed container compositions.
