ASTER (HAZY™)

Image of Aster 'Yohazy' (HAZY™) PP20261

Yoder Brothers

Family

Asteraceae

Botanical Name

ASTER 'Yohazy'(HAZY™) PP20261

Plant Common Name

Aster, Hazy Aster

General Description

Loads of dark pink flowers, compact size and uniform growth combine to make ‘Yohazy’ a stellar perennial for late-season garden color. Marketed under the name Hazy™, this Yoder Brothers, Inc. introduction was discovered as an open-pollinated hybrid of the cultivar 'Jenny.' Its vivid, yellow-centered daisies are borne on low, spreading, well-branched plants in autumn and are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.

Provide this lovely aster with full to part sun and moderately moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Pinch back stem tips in very late spring or early summer to encourage denser growth and more flowers. If desired, clumps may be divided in spring every few years. The short stature of Hazy makes it perfect for fall-themed container compositions, or for massing at the front of mixed beds and borders.
