Image of Astilbe 'Inshriach Pink' (Simplicifolia Group)

Family

Saxifragaceae

Botanical Name

ASTILBE 'Inshriach Pink'( Simplicifolia Group)

Plant Common Name

Astilbe, False Spirea, Inshriach Pink False Spirea

General Description

Inshriach Pink false spirea is a dwarf, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial that produces crinkly reddish green leaves and weeping plume-like inflorescence of pale pink flowers in late summer. The flowerheads fade to attractive shades of brown in the fall, providing landscape interest through winter.

'Inshriach Pink' requires well-drained moist soils in full sun to partial shade. Provide more water or a much richer soil if planted in full sunlight. It functions best in shade gardens, borders, rock gardens, and is used for waterside plantings. This astilbe should be divided every 3-4 years when overcrowding occurs.
