General Description
A hybrid begonia, 'Baby Wing Pink' has luscious, shiny green leaves on upright stems and abundant pink flowers in loose clusters from spring through fall. Derived from the larger Dragon Wing begonias, it start blooming earlier than they do when started from seeds. An upright, mounding plant, it is tolerant of sun and shade exposures, heat and drought, and are perfect as a bedding plant or in containers and hanging baskets.
Plant this begonia in a moist, well-drained soil in partial sun to partial shade. In sandier soils or in hot summer climates, additional watering will be necessary if planted without shade in the afternoon. Typically grown as an annual, the Baby Wing begonias will be perennial in subtropical and tropical climes. There they will bloom nearly year-round and require only occasional light pinching to rejuvenate foliage and blooming. In cold climates, lift the tubers before frost and winter them in cool, moist conditions until they break dormany in spring.
