Family
Begoniaceae
Botanical Name
Begonia( BABY WING™ SERIES)
Plant Common Name
Baby Wing™ Begonia, Begonia
General Description
The hybrid Baby Wing begonias have luscious, shiny green leaves, branching stems, and abundant pink or white flowers in loose clusters from spring through fall. They were derived from the larger Dragon Wing begonias but begin blooming earlier. The upright, mounding plants of the series are tolerant of both sun and shade exposures, heat and drought and are perfect as bedding plants or in containers and hanging baskets.
Plant these begonias in a moist, well-drained soil in partial sun to partial shade. In sandier soils or in hot summer climates, additional watering will be necessary, especially if the plants have no shade in the afternoon. Typically grown as annuals, the Baby Wing begonias will be perennial in subtropical and tropical climes. There they will bloom nearly year-round and require only occasional light pinching to rejuvenate foliage and blooming, maintain shape, and remove unsightly leaves..
