Varsity Bronze Leaf Pink wax begonia has a compact habit, is more heat tolerant than other begonias and flowers early from seed. It is commonly grown as a tender perennial, but is an evergreen perennial in tropical and subtropical zones. Throughout the growing season this bushy plant presents lustrous, succulent foliage of bronze that becomes covered with small, waxy pink flowers.
This begonia grows its best in partial sun and well-drained, but evenly moist soil. It is marginally drought tolerant and very easy to grow. It looks super in containers, hanging baskets and shaded borders. In colder zones, begonias can be brought indoors to overwinter.
