Helping You Become a More Successful Gardener
BOLTONIA asteroides var. latisquama 'Masbolimket'(JIM CROCKETT®) PPAF
The patented cultivar Jim Crockett® is noted for its relatively compact height, numerous pale violet daisies and deep green foliage. It was bred by Thomas H. Boyle in a controlled breeding program in Amherst, Massachusetts.
White doll’s daisy is a North American perennial that naturally inhabits the sunny moist prairies and old fields of the central and northeastern United States. This selection has an upright bushy habit, is clump-forming and spreads slowly via rhizomes. Its stems are lined with lance-shaped leaves that are deep green. In midsummer to fall its stems become topped with many delicate yellow-centered daisies of light violet. These appear in multitude and attract many pollinators such as butterflies and bees.
Full sun is best for this tough and adaptable perennial. It can withstand many soil types, even poor soils, but grows best in average fertile soil with even moisture and good drainage. Plants tend to flop, especially when planted in partial sun, and often require staking.
This native is ideal for large borders, wildflower and butterfly gardens. Its blooms are good for cutting too.
