General Description
The Blue Zephyr® or Mauve Mystique Swan River daisy becomes a sprawling mounding plant with rich mauve-lavender flowers. A double row of petals surround the golden yellow eye. A hybrid tender perennial, it's often used as a summer bedding annual that's killed by freezing temperatures.
The bright emerald green leaves are deeply and narrowly lobed, creating a mounded mat of fine-texture. A heavy-bloomer, this cultivar bears light blue-violet or deep lavender daisy blossoms. Trimming off spend flowers encourages a prompt reblooming display.
Grow Blue Zephyr® in a full to partial sun location in a loamy soil that's moderately fertile but well-drained. Tolerant of heat of drought, an evenly moist soil ensures steady growth and flowering, although excessive humidity coupled with heat is not ideal. Use it as a filler to spill over the edges of containers or hanging baskets, or as an edging or groundcover in the foreground of mixed flower beds.
