BUDDLEJA davidii var. nanhoensis 'Mongo'(PETITE INDIGO®)
Orange-eye Butterflybush, Petite Indigo® Butterflybush
The Petite Plum butterflybush (aka 'Mongo' and 'Nanho Blue') is a compact, arching shrub with pale blue-purple flowers originating from China. It has slightly smaller gray-green leaves than the species and produces its elongated clusters of fragrant flowers from mid-summer to frost. In climates with mild winters plants may be semi-evergreen.
Plants prefer full sun and can tolerate a wide range of well-drained soils. This is a wonderful shrub for attracting butterflies, but plants tend to freely sow themselves throughout the garden and beyond. Butterflybush is quite drought tolerant and provides summer interest to sunny mixed borders and foundation plantings.
