General Description

Graham Blandy box is an upright broadleaf evergreen shrub with glossy foliage emerging bright green in spring and darkening to a deep green. It takes on a columnar form readily and will mature significantly taller than wide, which is unusual for boxwood.

This cultivar prefers full sun to partial shade, tolerating a wide range of soil types appreciating a moist fertile loam, but should not be located in wet soils. Shield it from the cold, drying winter winds in areas with colder winters in its hardiness range. 'Graham Blandy' is particularly well-suited for tall and naturally narrow hedging in tight places or small urban gardens. The amount of shearing needed for a pleasing tall hedge is relatively low.
