CALADIUM 'Fannie Munson'
Plant Common Name
Angel Wings, Fannie Munson Caladium
General Description
Fanny Munson caladium is a tender tropical perennial plant grown from tubers. This plant is grown for its large, showy, variegated, colorful leaves that are vivid pink with a narrow green edge. Dark green veins with pink midribs may also occur in neutral soil or brighter light areas.
Grow in part shade to part sun in fertile moist well-drained soil. A more acidic soil will deepen its colors. 'Fannie Munson' has very thin leaves that are transluscent, and can be easily scalded in any afternoon sunlight. Use as a bedding plant, grown in containers or used as a filler in mixed plantings. May be grown in the ground all year in tropical climates. Elsewhere dig tubers when leaves dieback in the fall and store or pot up and bring indoors to grow during winter.
