Cheerful and boldly colored blue-violet blossoms cover the wiry stems of the Aloha Blue Sky million bells, cultivar 'Duealbusky'. Developed by German horticultural company Dümmen, is a warm-season annual to frost-tender perennial with more upright stems that create more of a mounding plant rather than the usual spreading, sprawling growth habit. The flowers are slightly larger-sized flowers, more akin to petunias. These blossoms appear prolifically across the growing season, with multiple color shades on each blossom, including a yellow throat in each tubular, trumpet-like flower. Aloha Blue Sky's flowers range from deep lavender to blue-violet and slightly deeper purple.
Heat-loving and everblooming, million bells grow best in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Aloha Series plants are a bit more forgiving of non-acidic soil types. They should be fed regularly and do not require deadheading but bloom better into autumn if they are lightly trimmed back in late summer to rejuvenate. These colorful bedding plants are perfect for containers, hanging baskets and border edges.
