Faintly pink blossoms with a yellow throat surrounded by a blush of dark fuchsia-violet bedazzle the wiry stems of Superbells® Pink Gem all season long. The vigorous, trailing plant in the Superbells® Series is high-performing and has extra large flowers. It produces an explosion of long-lasting, colorful blooms. A warm-season tender perennial that looks like a miniature petunia, it's grown as an annual that's killed by frost. The funnel-shaped flowers are smaller and less radial than those of the closely related petunia. Leaves are small with a medium to light green color.
All million bells appreciate full sun and good garden loam -- not alkaline in pH -- with ample drainage. Since they flower so prolifically, they need regular water and fertilizer, but don’t overwater as this causes lead to root or crown rot. Deadheading is not required but plants bloom better late in the season if they are lightly cut back in late summer.
These vibrant high performers will add a splash of color to any sunny garden spot and are perfect for hanging baskets or containers. They also look great planted in masses or spilling over the edge of a retaining wall.
