CAMPANULA glomerata var. acaulis
Clustered Bellflower, Dane's Blood
Clustered bellflower is a medium-sized, vigorously colonizing herbaceous perennial native to Europe and Asia. The dwarf form Campanula glomerata var. acaulis bears dense spikes of violet bell-shaped flowers in late spring and early summer above spreading clumps of large oval leaves.
This bellflower prefers full sun to part shade and well drained soil. It makes a nice if somewhat aggressive addition to mixed borders and meadow plantings, self-sowing where happy. Deadhead to encourage rebloom.
