CAMPANULA medium 'Champion Blue Improved'
Canterbury Bells, Champion Blue Improved Canterbury Bells
Campanula medium, commonly called Canterbury bells, is a short-lived herbaceous perennial that originates from western Europe. In late spring to early summer, clumps of medium to dark green basal foliage put forth tall, uniform leafy stems lined with large cup-shaped bells of violet-blue. The cultivar 'Champion Blue Improved' is highly floriferous and has a neater, more uniform habit than standard Campanula medium. Once flowers are spent, plants will not rebloom. Canterbury bells prefer sites with full to part sun and fertile, well drained soil. Lovely and old-fashioned, they are well-suited to perennial borders and cottage gardens.
