General Description

Peachleaf bellflower is a rhizomatous perennial originally native to Russia, Asia and Europe. Plants have lance-shaped leaves (likened in appearance to peach leaves) and bear long willowy stems of glossy, pendulous, bell shaped flowers that appear in early to late summer. This Terra Nova Nurseries introduction 'Blue-eyed Blonde' bears many nodding deep blue flowers on slender spikes throughout summer. Yielding to its name, this cultivar shows golden-yellow foliage rather than typical green. Plant peachleaf bellflower in a site with full sun to part shade and fertile, moist, well-drained soils. They are best used in cottage gardens and mixed borders.
