CAMPANULA punctata 'Wedding Bells'
Spotted Bellflower, Wedding Bells Bellflower
Resembling two nested teacups, the double, nodding, tubular flowers of ‘Wedding Bells’ are fresh white, sometimes blushed with pink. From late spring into summer, its unique flowers dangle elegantly from wiry stems above low mounds of heart-shaped foliage. This vigorous, clump-forming perennial is a cultivar of spotted bellflower, a species native to extreme northeastern Asia.
This easy-to-grow perennial grows best in full sun, but appreciates partial shade in hotter regions. Plant in fertile, well drained soil that is allowed to dry between waterings. 'Wedding Bells' is a unique addition to mixed borders, and makes a distinctive and long-lasting cut flower.
