Summer Snowfall™ Trumpet Vine, Trumpet Creeper, Trumpet Vine
The Summer Snowfall trumpet vine ('Takarazuka Variegated') is a vigorous deciduous climber with marbled creamy white and green leaves. Its summer occurring flowers are the classic orange-red trumpets. These fiery attention getters attract hungry hummingbirds.
'Takarazuka Variegated' spreads by suckering roots. Frequent pruning is required to keep it in bounds, although its leaf variegation tends to slow its grow rate in comparison to other trumpet vines. It grows in a wide array of soils and light exposures, but a moist, well-draining neutral soil in full sun produces the most impressive specimens. Make sure to have this big vine growing upon a very strong and large supporting structure where its foliage can be seen.
