CAREX morrowii 'Variegata'
Japanese Sedge, Morrow's Sedge, Variegated Sedge
This pretty sedge will brighten up any shade garden. Variegated Japanese sedge is a evergreen to semi-evergreen herbaceous perennial. Its neat clump of grass-like blades are medium green with a thin white edge. These remain attractive all season and compliment many other perennials for shade.
Japanese sedge grows best in partial sun to shade and prefers organic-rich soil with even moisture. It's an easy care plant that works well in containers, massed as a ground cover, or along the edge of a border.
In late winter to early spring plants can be cut to the ground to allow for a fresh flush of growth.
