CATHARANTHUS roseus 'Victory Blue'( VICTORY SERIES)
Madagascar Periwinkle, Victory Blue Vinca, Vinca
This entry has yet to be reviewed and approved by L2G editors.
Victory Blue vinca is a compact, disease-resistant tropical evergreen shrub that is grown as a tender perennial or bedding annual in temperate climates. Highly heat and drought tolerant, 'Victory Blue' is everblooming and bears large, showy, circular flowers of lavender-violet that has a slight bluish cast. Petal bases often are white and help create a small central eye.
Plant this tough, sun-loving ornamental in beds, borders or containers and in butterfly and seaside gardens. In tropical regions it can be planted in mixed shrub borders or along a building foundation. Madagascar periwinkle dislikes "wet feet" and will suffer from root rot in poorly drained soils. It has a tendency to reseed itself, potentially becoming invasive in warm regions with light soils. Do not overwater this plant.
