CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Anastasia'( ANASTASIA SERIES) PP13550
Beautiful greenish white quilled spider flowers bedeck 'Anastasia.' The large flowers are produced on tall upright stems lined with deep green leaves. This Deliflor Chrysanten B.V. introduction naturally blooms in late fall, but plants grown under artificial conditions will flower 7 weeks after 3 weeks of "long-night" treatment (13.5 hours or more). This vegetatively propagated mum was bred by Jan Hoek of Gravenzande, Netherlands, and is grown primarily for the cut-flower trade.
Chrysanthemum × morifolium is an old-time favorite for fall gardens and for greenhouse and cut-flower displays. This herbaceous perennial originated in eastern Asia, where it has long been cultivated for its showy blooms and fragrant, deeply lobed foliage. Hundreds of mum varieties are grown today.
Chrysanthemums prefer full sun and fertile garden loam with good drainage. Though technically perennial, most mums are grown as annuals. Plants are more reliably hardy if you wait to cut their spent branches back in mid-spring. Spring is also the best time to divide them, if necessary. Disbudded plants produce extra-large blooms.
