CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Anastasia Dark Green'( ANASTASIA SERIES) PP14293
The chrysanthemum 'Anastasia Dark Green' produces large, quilled, lime-green spider flowers on tall upright stems that are ideal for cutting. The 4-inch-wide (10 cm), many-petaled, long-lasting blooms appear in autumn under "natural" conditions, but greenhouse-grown specimens will flower 7 weeks after 3 weeks of "long-night" treatment (13.5 hours or more). A member of the Anastasia Series of mums, this vegetatively propagated cultivar was bred by Jan Hoek of Gravenzande, Netherlands, and introduced by the Dutch firm Deliflor Chrysanten B.V. Anastasia mums are grown primarily for the cut-flower trade.
Chrysanthemum × morifolium is an old-time favorite for fall gardens and for greenhouse and cut-flower displays. This herbaceous perennial originated in eastern Asia, where it has long been cultivated for its showy blooms and fragrant, deeply lobed foliage. Hundreds of mum varieties are grown today.
Like most mums, those in the Anastasia Series thrive in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Disbudded plants produce extra-large blooms.
