Helping You Become a More Successful Gardener
CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Camina'
The fully double burgundy-red flowers of this decorative mum blend beautifully with other fall-blooming plants. Bred in Belgium, ‘Camina’ is a heavy-flowering selection that adopts that perfect cushion mum habit.
In spring, this clump-forming herbaceous perennial develops dense stems lined with medium green fragrant lobed leaves. It begins flowering in early fall and continues for several weeks afterward. Its flowers are small, uniform and cover the plants so densely it is hard to see the foliage below.
Chrysanthemums prefer full sun and fertile garden loam with good drainage. Though technically perennial, most mums are grown as annuals to include ‘Arezzo’, though it will survive in regions with modestly cold winters.
This warm-hued mum blends well with bright pansies and colorful kales. It is attention-grabbing when planted in masses and welcoming in festive container plantings accented with decorative gourds and small pumpkins.
