CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Cesaro'
Cesaro Chrysanthemum, Decorative Chrysanthemum
The numerous blossoms of ‘Cesaro’ look like small golden stars. Bred in Belgium, this heavy-flowering decorative mum adopts that perfect cushion mum habit.
In spring, this clump-forming herbaceous perennial develops dense stems lined with medium green fragrant lobed leaves. Bloom begins in late summer and continues for several weeks.
Chrysanthemums prefer full sun and fertile garden loam with good drainage. Though technically perennial, most mums are grown as annuals to include ‘Cesaro’, though it will survive in regions with modestly cold winters.
This warm-hued mum blends well with bright pansies, ornamental grasses and colorful kales. It is attention-grabbing when planted in masses and welcoming in festive container plantings accented with decorative gourds and small pumpkins.
