CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Currant Yomistique'( CURRANT MISTIQUE, MISTIQUE SERIES) PP20197
Single Chrysanthemum
Currant Mistique chrysanthemum (also known as Fleurettes Currant Mistique) produces numerous small, coral-pink, yellow-eyed "daisies" on fast-blooming, heat-tolerant, 6- to 10-inch (15 to 25 cm) plants. The 1.25-inch-wide (3 cm), single to semi-double blooms appear in autumn under "natural" conditions. Greenhouse-grown specimens can be brought into bloom at other seasons, with plants flowering approximately 6 weeks after 2 weeks of "long nights" (13.5 hours or more). This vegetatively propagated mum is grown and sold as a seasonal pot plant.
Encompassing thousands of cultivars, Chrysanthemum × morifolium is an old-time favorite for fall gardens and greenhouse displays. This herbaceous perennial originated in eastern Asia, where it has long been cultivated for its showy blooms and fragrant, deeply lobed foliage.
Like most mums, Currant Mistique thrives in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Pinch back developing stems to encourage a tidier habit and heavier flowering.
