CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Donna'(DONNA™ YELLOW) PP07512
Single Chrysanthemum
The bright yellow daisies of Donna™ Yellow have fluted, spoon-shaped petals that offer added visual appeal. Like other popular fall mums, it is a heavy-flowering selection that adopts a uniform, slightly spreading, cushion habit. This colorful mum was introduced by Yoder Brothers and bred by Cornelis P. VandenBerg of Salinas, California.
In spring, this clump-forming herbaceous perennial puts forth dense stems lined with medium green, fragrant, lobed leaves. In late spring to early summer it should be pinched back to encourage a more uniform shape and to increase the density of flower buds for fall. It naturally begins to flower in late summer and continues for several weeks afterward. Its many fragrant flowers are welcoming to butterflies as well as other insect pollinators.
Chrysanthemums prefer full sun and fertile garden loam with good drainage. Though technically perennial, most mums are grown as annuals, though they will survive in regions with modestly cold winters.
The bright, warm flowers of Donna™ Yellow complement any colorful fall display and are ideal for container plantings and tabletop arrangements.
