CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Draga'(DRAGA™ YELLOW)
Decorative Chrysanthemum
The pretty cushion mum Draga™ Yellow bears pretty fully double flowers of golden yellow on well-branched stems. It adopts a perfect compact, spreading, cushion habit and naturally blooms from late summer to early fall.
In spring, this clump-forming herbaceous perennial has dense, branched stems lined with rich green, fragrant, lobed leaves. Its showy flowers are uniform and densely cover the mounded plant. They are visited by butterflies as the insects prepare to migrate, lay eggs or find shelter for winter.
Chrysanthemums prefer full sun and fertile garden loam with good drainage. Though technically perennial, most mums are grown as annuals including Draga™ Yellow. Plants are more reliably hardy if you wait to cut their spent branches back in mid-spring. Spring is also the best time to divide them, if necessary. Cushion mums are often pinched back in late spring or early summer to encourage a neater habit and heavier fall flowering.
The warm colorful flowers of Draga™ Yellow will complement any colorful fall display and add a fresh touch to container plantings and tabletop displays.
