CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Factor' PP12000
Single Chrysanthemum, Spray Chrysanthemum
The bouquet chrysanthemum 'Factor' produces sprays of yellow, greenish-eyed "daisies" on long stems. The 3-inch-wide (8 cm), single to semi-double blooms appear in autumn under "natural" conditions, but greenhouse-grown specimens will flower 7.5 weeks after 3 weeks of "long nights" (13.5 hours or more). This vegetatively propagated mum is sold as a cut flower by florists and other vendors.
C. × morifolium originated in eastern Asia, where this herbaceous perennial has been cultivated and bred for many centuries. Its many cultivars are grown for their showy blooms, which are borne above clumps of fragrant, deeply lobed leaves.
Like most mums, 'Factor' thrives in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium.
