CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Kent'( KENT SERIES) PP09302
Developed for the cut flower trade, the chrysanthemum 'Kent' produces sprays of double, white, cream-centered blossoms on sturdy, upright, 36- to 40-inch (90 to 100 cm) stems. The 3.5-inch-wide (8 to 8.5 cm), many-petaled blooms appear in summer and autumn under "natural" conditions, but greenhouse-grown specimens can be brought into flower at other seasons. This vegetatively propagated mum was introduced by Yoder Brothers of Barberton, Ohio.
C. × morifolium originated in eastern Asia, where this herbaceous perennial has been cultivated and bred for many centuries. Its many cultivars are grown for their showy blooms, which are borne above clumps of fragrant, deeply lobed leaves.
Like most mums, 'Kent' thrives in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium.
