Helping You Become a More Successful Gardener
CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Orange Molfetta'
Decorative Chrysanthemum, Orange Molfetta Chrysanthemum
This relatively early-blooming double-flowered mum produces masses of golden-yellow, orange-centered blossoms from late summer to early autumn. It has a compact, rounded habit.
The showy blooms and pungent, lobed leaves of garden chrysanthemums are staples of the autumn flower garden. These herbaceous perennials originated in eastern Asia, where they have been bred and selected for many centuries. Garden mums are customarily planted in late summer for seasonal display.
Like most garden mums, Triumph Series cultivars thrive in full sun and a fertile, well-drained growing medium. Although typically planted as seasonal annuals, most garden mums can be used as border perennials in USDA hardiness zones 6 through 9. Pinch back plants in late spring or early summer to encourage a tidier habit and heavier fall flowering.
