CHRYSANTHEMUM x morifolium 'Rosy Yoigloo'( ROSY IGLOO, IGLOO SERIES) PP19114
Decorative Chrysanthemum, Rosy Igloo Hardy Chrysanthemum
The double deep rose blossoms of Rosy Igloo offer a riot of color in the early autumn landscape. It is a cold hardy mum that will reliably overwinter.
In spring, this large clump-forming herbaceous perennial puts forth dense stems lined with medium green, fragrant, lobed leaves. In late spring to early summer it should be pinched back to ensure a more uniform shape and to increase the density of flower buds for fall. Its double deep rose flowers densely cover the spherical mounds of foliage.
Mums grow best in full sun and garden loam with good drainage. Mass Rosy Igloo in mixed borders with ornamental grasses, asters and ornamental kales. In containers it looks handsome accessorized with a variety of gourds, Indian corn and small pumpkins.
Igloo mums are not well-suited for spring forcing for the florist trade.
